杨晚晚出生于大山深处的一户贫困农家，为了支持她上学，母亲借钱被村长一家羞辱而死，姐姐被逼嫁人，多年后杨晚晚得知真相回到大山，她要向这世间求一个公道。。The story is set in the 1930s, somewhere in the mountains in Romania. It centres on Simion, a ranger who lives like a hermit in the middle of the forest. One day, he stumbles upon a beaten-up woman, Irina, and tries to find out who has hurt her. He also tries to stay away from her but fails.。
