故事以主角辛纪元（黄日华饰）为主干，原是重案组督察，在经历儿子离奇猝死的打击后，触发了他能阅读及捕捉他人意识的潜能，过程中他出现了双重性格的征象，妻子及旁人都以为他患了精神病，其实他深信儿子是在“意识空间”被人杀死！元从此着力钻研“阅读人意识”的潜能，以私家侦探身份协助警方调查超自然案件，希望有一日查出在意识空间杀死儿子的真凶……而剧中一班主角都有异于常人的能力，他们把别人眼中“不正常”的特质，转化为不可思议的潜能，一起合作屡破奇案。。本片是导演献给新浪潮的诚意之作，讲两个性情迥异，但同样很法国的兄弟。哥哥与同居恋人分手，回到爸爸家里整天自我放逐在床上。弟弟却人见人爱，可以六小时内分别和三个女孩上床，但对个个都是真心。哥哥想死跳落塞纳河，结局却没有他想像的那样。人物都有不可思议的法国性情，但导演没半点造作的真切笔触，将哥的抑郁、弟的狂情都写得很有情味。。A lonely tow-truck driver gets caught in a deadly struggle between a pair of bank robbers with a beautiful hostage, local cops, and a monster that has come down from the Arizona mountains to eat human flesh.
